Profile of the Chairman of the Group:-

Engr Ibrahim Usman , is a retired Bank Chief Executive , and currently the Executive Chairman of Powerseal Nigeria Limited (PNL) which among other businesses, manufactures Decorative Paints and concrete products at his factory in Kaduna. He is on the Board and has equity interest in many companies involved in Consultancy, International Trade, Power, Construction and Insurance. He is also the Board Chairman of Powerseal Energy Limited, a subsidiary of PNL, which recently acquired a factory proposed for the manufacture of Renewable Energy products: meters, LED lamps, solar panels, solar power accessories and energy storage batteries

 

Engr Usman , a retired Bank Chief Executive , is the Executive Chairman of Powerseal Nigeria Limited (PNL) which among other businesses , manufactures Decorative Paints and concrete products at his factory in the Kakuri ,Kaduna South , Industrial zone . He is on the Board and has equity interest in many companies involved in Consultancy , International Trade , Energy , Construction and Ethical Financial .

 

He is a member of the National and Executive Councils of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) where he holds sway as the Chairman of the Infrastructure Committee as well as the Chairman , Board of Directors of it’s subsidiary , the Manufacturers’ Power Development Company Limited . He is currently a member of NERC’s Grid Code Review Panel which is responsible for the creation of the technical rules and regulations guiding Nigeria’s Electricity Generation , Transmission and Distribution . He is the immediate past Vice President of MAN (North West Zone ) and had to retire as per the Association’s constitution after serving in that position for two consecutive terms. He is a National Executive Council member of the Paints Manufacturers’ Association of Nigeria, PMAN.

 

Among many others he is the Chairman of Solution Power Partners Ltd involved in power generation and distribution . He is also the Chairman , Board of Directors of one of Nigeria’s foremost steel companies , Sparkwest Steel Industries Limited , Sagamu , which produces galvanized steel masts and gantries for the power and telecommunications sectors.

 

Engr Ibrahim Usman , is a 1975 BSc (Building Engineering ) graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria . He also has a 1978 MBA ( Finance & International Business ) degree from the prestigious Columbia University Graduate School Of Business Administration , New York City . He was privileged in 1976 to be a pioneer Management Trainee Of the Centre for Management Development (CMD) Lagos which gave him the background and formal training as a professional manager.

 

He has an extensive working experience spanning across banking , government parastatals , international trade and manufacturing . He had at one time or the other held the following positions:

Pioneer Head Of Commercial Department Murtala Mohammed International Airport , Nigerian Airports Authority , Lagos

General Manager & CEO , Nigerian Airports Commercial Ventures Limited , Lagos.

Assistant General Manager , Corporate Banking , United Bank for Africa (UBA) Lagos

Assistant General Manager , Corporate Finance , Nigerian Merchant Bank , Lagos

Managing Director & CEO , Premier Commercial Bank Plc .

Executive Director , Incar Nigeria Plc .

Executive Chairman & CEO Federal Superphosphate Fertilizer Company Limited , Kaduna.

 

Engr Usman has travelled very widely all over the world and has attended several international courses , seminars , trade fairs , exhibitions etc . He was also at one time or the other a member of the Nigerian delegation to Saudi , Iran , Egypt , US , Malaysia , Singapore , India , UAE , Belgium , Holland and the UK for one thing or the other .

 

For corporate social responsibility ( CSR ) he has a foundation catering for the moral and religious education and upbringing of the less privileged... Betara Kuru Foundation. He also serves as the Chairman, Board of Trustees , of Fatimatani Islamic Foundation and Mjir Viu Foundation with the latter currently in the final stages of completing a huge complex for the training of Nurses , Midwives and skills acquisition for orphans , widows , destitutes and the less privileged . As a community leader , Engr Usman was the Pioneer Chairman of Biu Forum and currently the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Forum .

 

He had a stint in politics and was the Vice Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2007 Nigerian general elections.

 

He is Babur by tribe from Biu , Borno state . Engr Ibrahim Usman is married with three wives , 14 children and six grand children.
